Trip to ROF59
On Wednesday 22nd February 2017, we were lucky enough to join Dawn O’Hanlon and fellow parents and children on a trip to ROF59 in Newton Aycliffe. Having a 4 year old and a 16 year old, I initially worried about activities suiting both my children but was put at ease as soon as I arrived!
We were greeted by the lovely Dawn and Simon and my 16 year old son Jordan went off to wall climb. He and Simon were taken round to the walls by a member of staff, so I left to it for a while. My little girl Freya, thoroughly enjoyed the trampolines. It was initially a little busy but this didn’t seem to phase her much as there was so much space for her to run and jump – she loved it!
Later we went to find Jordan and to my amazement found him 20ft up in the air, climbing a wall – his face was a picture! Jordan hates heights and usually he gets anxious, but working with Simon he pushed himself and stepped right out of his comfort zone. Not only was I proud he was of him, but I could see how super proud of himself! I think he shocked himself! was lovely to see him beaming with pride and self-esteem!
A fab day!
Thank you for the opportunity
