Tip of the Week!

Struggling with errands and appointments? Try the following sensory input on a daily basis.

Before visiting the dentist or hairdresser, why not try some deep massage to the head or scalp (if tolerated).

Try chewy foods or vibration to the mouth with an electric toothbrush.

Let your child wear a heavy backpack (weighted to their liking with books and with the straps padded as needed).

Be sure to give your child ample warning before any changes in routine or any unscheduled trips or errands. A good way to do this would also be by using visual timetables or stories.

Don’t forget the most important thing – many children with SPD need predictability!
