Specific hand activities can be incorporated into the child’s day to develop their hand and manipulation skills. Activities can be individual or whole class based.

The aim is to improve the child’s pencil grip and dexterity when handling tools/utensils.

Hand writing programmes

We offer a variety of handwriting programme and interventions to suit different age groups and problems:

Pre writing programmes focus on the pre requisite skills of pencil grasp, copying, drawing and physical aspects such as posture.

The aim is to develop the necessary foundation skills to develop good letter formation.

Hand writing programme –

Incorporates the physical, sensory-motor and perceptual components into a multi-sensory approach to handwriting. Programmes such as:

• Handwriting without tears
• Write from the Start can also be introduced into the classroom with specific advice

The Aim is to improve the child’s handwriting ability and tackle the underlying cause of the problem.
