Treatments
The report from an assessment will outline clinic based treatment and school/home based programmes that will help address the difficulties that the child has been experiencing. Weekly targets will be set and the child will be assessed at clinic visits to determine progress. Telephone consultations can also take place to assist the running of the programme and to ensure that the programme is continuing to meet the child’s needs.
We offer a range of affordable treatments:
- One off consultation with home programme (popular with teenage youngsters)
- Direct treatment either individually or within a group
- Home School Programme
- Therapeutic Listening Programme
- Specialised Handwriting Programme (handwriting without tears or perceptual motor programme)
- Sensory Diet Programme
- Sensory Workshops
- Sleep Programme
- After School Club
Treatment can therefore focus on a specific area for example handwriting or address a number of issues, depending on the child’s needs. This can be further discussed with our staff.
Children benefit enormously from our programmes. Activities are fun and easy to implement within the home environment. Treatment not only develops the child’s core movement skills, but also helps with every aspect of their life. By improving a child’s gross and fine motor function an improvement takes place in the child’s academic skills from attention, listening, reading and writing.
We believe every child should have the opportunity to access our service as through intervention we see improvements in children’s emotional well being, confidence and motivation. Ultimately as life becomes easier all aspects of the child’s life will improve.
