Remote Therapy Class – Handwriting
Remote therapy class – handwriting is Tree Tops’ pioneering new dynamic way of delivering occupational therapy services directly into your home.
We would like to introduce you to our second Zoom remote therapy class – handwriting which will help your child(ren) with any difficulties in this area.
Don’t worry, the sessions will be fun and interactive but more importantly, it will equip you as a parent with skills to integrate into your home to develop your child’s handwriting skills.
Poor handwriting can be due to poor motor skills, organisational and motor planning along with perception. Signs are poor:
- Posture
- Positioning of the paper
- Heavy/light pressure
- Pencil grip
- Fine motor skills
- Letter/number formation
- Writing alignment
- Writing flow
- Spatial organisation
If a child is required to write in school all day, these difficulties will have a profound effect on their academic performance and of course, self-esteem, often leading to meltdowns and anxiety.
