Families
Parents often come to us after many years of frustration and despair, after receiving limited satisfaction or acknowledgement from other health or educational professionals.
We pride ourselves on helping children and families by:
- identifying the cause of a child’s difficulties
- informing parents/carers in a clear concise way
- offering Sensory Integration based treatment and interventions to address difficulties
- educating and providing school staff with advice and programmes to benefit each child.
We also run a parent SPD Support Group which helps provide relevant advice and support for parents, please contact us for more information.
Schools
At Tree Tops we are passionate about enabling other professionals to understand the nature of children’s difficulties in particular with relation to sensory processing.
We firmly believe educational staff should learn and develop their knowledge on how such problems impact upon a child’s learning, social and emotional well- being.
We work in partnership with mainstream schools and special schools to deliver assessments & intervention programmes. This ranges from motor skills and sensory diet programmes to strategies/advice within the classroom. Our training sessions can be delivered into school on a range of topics to meet school requirements, providing in-depth knowledge and graded programmes for staff to run independently.
Health Service Referrals
Many children with learning difficulties and sensory processing problems can be referred to Tree Tops via special NHS funding.
These are often extremely complex youngsters with a range of difficulties including challenging behaviours and sensory issues. As part of this service we work closely with both home and school to provide understanding and solutions to the child’s behaviours and difficulties.
An in depth sensory assessment both at school and with parents is conducted. Half a day training for parents/carers and school is offered to implement our sensory diet programme.
In some cases children can also access 5 weeks of individual Sensory Integration treatment in our clinic.
